Wild Spirit Samoyeds Foundaton: Sadie

Sadie

GCH Bark Bark’s Sedona Spirit of Juno

Sadie is one of our two foundation dogs and joined us at just 11 weeks of age. From the beginning, she stood out for her exceptional pedigree, classic Samoyed type, and natural presence. Sadie completed her AKC Championship in Kansas City, Missouri on March 10, 2018, and quickly went on to earn her AKC Grand Championship in Houston, Texas on July 18, 2018.

While she continued to show selectively, Sadie’s most enduring contribution to the breed has come through her progeny. She completed all required health testing in January 2019 and whelped her first litter of five puppies in July of that year. Over the course of her career, Sadie produced two litters, resulting in three AKC Champions and one National Specialty Award of Merit winner. Her ability to consistently pass on correct structure, beauty, and unmistakable Samoyed breed-type made her an ideal foundation for our breeding program. She remains a cornerstone of our kennel, both genetically and philosophically.

Aster

GCHB Bark Bark n Wild Spirit’s  Desert Star

Aster, our second co-foundation dog, began her show career early and made an immediate impression. She won her first three AKC 4–6 Month Puppy Best in Show competitions in Texas before officially entering the regular AKC show ring at just six months of age on June 12, 2018. Barely a month later, Aster finished her AKC Championship on July 21, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She went on to earn her AKC Grand Championship in Dallas on December 9, 2018—just three days shy of her first birthday.

Over the course of her career, Aster distinguished herself as a truly competitive Samoyed. She earned multiple Owner-Handled Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show wins. In addition to those top honors, Aster accumulated 32 National Owner-Handled Series Group One placements, a level of consistency that speaks to her durability, soundness, and sustained excellence in the ring. In 2019, Aster ranked as the #6 Owner-Handled Samoyed in the country, qualifying her for the National Owner-Handler Series Finals in Orlando, Florida. There, she was awarded Best of Breed at the NOHS Finals and Select Bitch at the AKC National Championship.

Aster earned her AKC Bronze Grand Championship in October 2021 and achieved NOHS Gold Level status in 2022, becoming only the 14th Samoyed in breed history to earn this distinction. Beyond her individual accomplishments, Aster has made a lasting contribution as a producer. From her single litter, she produced two AKC Champions, a National Specialty Award of Merit winner, and earned First Place Brood Bitch at the 2024 National Specialty—the highest recognition a breeding female can receive.

Aster won the coveted 1st Brood Bitch Award at the 2024 National Specialty

Sadie & Aster — Co-Foundation Dogs

Sadie and Aster are full biological sisters from different litters, sharing the same DNA and forming the genetic backbone of our program. Together, they represent the balance of structure, temperament, and breed type we strive to preserve and refine. Their combined influence continues to guide our breeding decisions and shape the long-term direction of our kennel.

Marcy

GCH Wild Spirit’s Cloudsplitter of Essex

Marcy holds a special place in our hearts as our first home-bred girl, from the July 2019 Sadie x Howdy litter. From the start, she displayed a bold personality and a strong sense of presence—feisty, confident, and unmistakably herself.

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 shutdowns, Marcy was able to show selectively and earned her AKC Championship in March 2021 in Kerrville, Texas. In doing so, she became Wild Spirit Samoyeds’ first AKC Bred-By Champion, an important milestone for our kennel. Now retired, Marcy is a wonderfully tempered and adventurous Samoyed with balanced proportions, an efficient gait, and a pedigree rich in some of the breed’s most influential producers. She produced one litter of five puppies and continues to embody the qualities we value most—soundness, character, and joy of life.
